Orthopedic Fellowships

As pioneers in the study of ankle and foot disease, the providers at the Southwest Ankle and Foot Center offer fellowship training programs for local and international orthopedic surgeons. Our fellowship programs are designed to produce an orthopedic surgeon who is an expert in the evaluation and management of foot, ankle, and knee conditions.

Fellowship Training in Lower Extremity Surgery

We offer fellowship training in the areas of orthopedic foot, ankle and lower extremity surgery. Accepted fellows will gain the extensive operative experience necessary for the management of common and complex ankle and foot disorders. Accepted fellows will be presented with advanced orthopedic surgical techniques including:

  • Joint Replacement (Arthroplasty)
  • Arthroscopy of Lower Extremities
  • Foot & Ankle Trauma Management
  • Surgery of Hindfoot, Midfoot, and Forefoot
  • Adult Foot, Knee, and Ankle Reconstruction

Our foot and ankle fellowship programs allow orthopedic surgeons to evaluate the most advanced technology, participate in educational seminars, observe in patient care, and participate in the treatment of ankle and foot patients. Accepted fellows will be under the supervision of our board-certified foot and ankle surgeons.

Orthopedic Fellowship Training Objectives

  • To present knowledge about joint replacement
  • To present knowledge about arthroscopic techniques
  • To present extensive knowledge of reconstructive surgery
  • To teach the skills of managing complex foot and ankle disorders

Fellowship Training Requirements

  • Qualify for an Arizona State Medical License
  • Graduate from an approved orthopedic surgery residency
  • Complete our orthopedic fellowship application process

Orthopedic Fellowship Applications

We are currently accepting orthopedic fellowship applications at the Southwest Ankle and Foot Center, a division of Southwest Orthopaedic Surgery Specialists, in Tucson, AZ. Fellowship applications should include the following:

  • A personal statement
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation
  • Arizona State Medical License Number (must qualify for)
  • Proof of graduation from an orthopedic surgery residency

Orthopedic Fellowship Salary & Benefits

Our orthopedic foot and ankle fellowship salary and benefits package is comparable to national norms. Fellowship salary and benefit information is available to orthopedic surgeons who inquire. Contact the Southwest Ankle & Foot Center from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday in Tucson, AZ.
